Today in Island History
1853 Philadelphia's Academy of Natural Sciences announces the acquisition of the fossil skull of Bathygnathus borealis. It's an Islander -- about 285 million years old. Found by well- diggers in French River, it was once a 7-9 foot, sail-backed reptile, older even than the dinosaurs.

   LIVE at BASIN HEAD 2017


Every Friday afternoon, in the months of July and August there will be free admission to the Museum all day.

Demonstrations, book signings and readings, food sampling, artist exhibits  and music.....a different combination every week.  All free to the public.   Call the museum beginning July 5, for informataion, and, watch this page for updates.
