24 June 1866 Father George Belcourt debuts his horseless carriage at a St. Jean Baptiste Day picnic in Rustico, thus becoming the first Canadian motorist, the first to buy a car, and the first to import one. He is also the first to have a car accident when he fails to negotiate a turn and goes off the road. The machine is retired.

Surround yourself with the mood, charm and activities of a small Prince Edward Island agricultural crossroads in the 1890s.

Engage in the daily programming, specially chosen to keep children happy, while learning and having tons of fun with the animals. Drop by the general store and the PEI Agricultural Heritage Museum. Visit the working blacksmith shop,
stroll through the gardens and have a picnic outside the old schoolhouse or by a scenic look-off to the beautiful Orwell Bay.

June Hours:
Monday to Friday: 9:00 am to 4:30 pm

July and August Hours: Daily 9:30 am to 5:00 pm
